The Charity Workshop was organized and promoted by Dr. Lee Wilson on the 4th and 5th April 2009. It was held in Darwin College in Cambridge. The workshop covered 10 hrs of training session over a 2 days period.
The charity seminar was held to raise money to help Vince Nurse, a close friend, to whom the mother to his children was brutally murdered in Bristol, England. We hear stories in the news but most of us are unprepared to hear it being close to the person we know.
Dr. Lee Wilson has agreed to help organize a charity seminar to help in the effort.
The event was supported by individuals who love the martial arts. We were also supported by the Alun Williams of The Goshinkwai Total Body Defence Organization in Wales who a donated their Award winning instructional DVD; and Ustaad Harjinder Singh of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Gatka Group (BDSG) from Birmingham, who donated wooden staffs to be sold for the fund-raising. We raised a respectable £460 from the event. All proceeds was forwarded to the Nurse Family.
On behalf of Vince Nurse we would like to extend our sincere appreciation for ALL those who supported the event.
This event also aims to raise the curiosity and awareness among people from different nationalities about the martial heritage and culture of Brunei Darussalam in general.

A quick note:
As mentioned above the charity was held in Darwin College, Cambridge, I would like to point out that it was held in the former house of the famous Charles Darwin, the naturalist who started the modern evolutionary theory, you know the "monkey evolving into man" theory. The College was named after him. That was just one of the most amazing experience to be conducting a seminar in the House of Charles Darwin.
Just imagine how many intellectuals in the past century has walked those corridors and passing thier theories on life and education; knowing to be the 1st Bruneian to conduct and instructional lesson there makes me quite proud to be honest :) How many Bruneian can say they have taught in the same room Charles Darwin "could have" written his famous book "On the Origin of Species".
