ACCOMODATION
.
For those who are flying in from elsewhere, New York City is full of hotels and, as stated above, can be reached via public transportation from both New York City airports: LaGuardia Airport(Airport Code: LGA) and John F. Kennedy Airport(Airport Code: JFK).
.
Also something to consider is finding lodging outside of Manhattan. But in doing so, it is my recommendation that you make sure that it is accessible via the New York City subway system because cabs can be expensive. You can find a New York City subway map here: http://www.mta.info/nyct/maps/submap.htm
.
Staying in New Jersey is also a possibility, but there is only one hotel I would recommend that is directly across the water and convenient for the seminar. You can get to Manhattan in ten minutes using a ferry that costs $10 USD each way.
.
Information on this hotel can be found here: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/preferredguest/property/overvie/index.html?propertyID=1177
.
The ferry info can be found here: http://www.nywaterway.com/
.
.
FOOD (LUNCH)
.
There will be many places to buy an inexpensive lunch in the area. It is our hope that we can dine together informally as a group. But New York City is a tempting place with many options and we completely understand if you want to do your own thing.
.
.
WHAT TO BRING
.
+ Blunt Training Knife (no sharp blades in training)
+ Eye protection
+ Knee Protector (e.g. volleyball knee pad)
